The Independent Living Fund was set up to enable disabled people to live with equality in the community. This is now being eroded by Government.
The Fund has been closed and money given to Councils however this money is not ringfenced meaning it does not have to be spent on the people who were receiving it, indeed, it does not even have to be spent on adult social care. This is appalling!
People rely on this money to enable them to live in their communities. If it is taken away how can this continue! Please contact your local authorities and councillors and MP’s to lobby them to ring fence this money. It is just so important to people’s independence.
